WHO AM I?

I trained as a Counsellor after many years of working with computers,  and I have found this work far more fulfilling and rewarding.
The core philosophy of my training is that every individual has the capacity and resilience to make the right choices for themselves, given the right environment.
My personal experience is that I have grown most, when I have felt heard and understood, in an environment where I have been given the freedom to explore at my own pace and in my own direction.

I have been practicing as a Counsellor for 14 years in various settings.
Private Practice for Adults and Young People, FE College, Universities, Third sector Counselling Agencies, Bereavement Support Service, Rape and Sexual Abuse Agency.

As part of my portfolio of work I am the Clinical Director for The Olive Branch Christian Counselling Service based in Winchester.

WHAT I OFFER

My aim as a counsellor within each session is to work with you to create a place where there is sufficient trust and sufficient confidence to make it safe. A place where all that is happening and all that has happened can be expressed and heard even if it is raw and painful. Where nothing that is said, and nothing that is felt will be rejected or dismissed. A place to explore changes and to test out different reactions and find the way through that works best for you.

WHAT HAPPENS

Counselling is a Talking Therapy, the practicalities are that you have a meeting which will generally be once a week and will last for 50 minutes.

There are many different approaches to counselling but fundamentally it is about the relationship between you and the counsellor.

A place for you to feel safe to explore your feelings. Therefore each session should be a place to talk about things without having to be careful about what you say.

From this freedom you can start to make some meaning of what is happening for you.

Each session costs £50.

When we meet we will talk about the length of time that you think that you might need and that can be reviewed at any time.
